“Become a Certified and RegisteredABA Practitioner”
Many of the problems people face each day are the result of human behavior. Have you ever wondered how to help someone change his/her behavior to live a happier and healthier life?
Applied Behavior Analysis is a science that is used to improve or change specific behaviors like social skills, reading, academics, communication, job proficiency and even simple things like a child keeping his/her room clean.
ABA is often distinguished as behavior therapy for children with disabilities like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The United States Surgeon General (1999) concluded, “Thirty years of research demonstrated the efficacy of applied behavioral methods in reducing inappropriate behavior and in increasing communication, learning and appropriate social behavior.”
In the Philippines, there is a growing awareness on ABA interventions that should be supervised by qualified certified behavior analysts. Certified and registered ABA practitioners are now sought by parents, medical doctors, allied professionals and educators. ABA practitioners know that certification is the catalyst key to growth and security, and so to be able to bring quality ABA services with high ethical values. BACB Certification Requirements
There Are Two Levels of Certification:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®)
- Minimum of master’s degree in psychology, education or applied behavior analysis
- Visit the BACB website for additional requirements
- BCBA 5th Edition Task List Course Content
Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst® (BCaBA®)
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Visit the BACB website for additional requirements
- BCaBA 5th Edition Task List Course Content
What is the difference between a BCBA and BCaBA?
The requirements to take the BCaBA certification examination are lower than the requirements to take the BCBA examination. The BACB requires that a BCaBA work under the supervision of a BCBA and not independently.
