About ABA Training Solutions
Advancing ABA Education and Professional Practice in the Philippines
ABA Training Solutions, also known as ABATS, is a professional education and training organization founded in 2014 in Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines. Since its establishment, ABATS has been committed to strengthening the science, ethical practice, and professional development of Applied Behavior Analysis in the Philippines and across Southeast Asia.
We provide internationally aligned, evidence-based, and ethics-centered ABA training programs for professionals who support children with special needs, individuals with developmental disabilities, and communities that need high-quality behavior analytic services.
At the heart of our work is a clear purpose: to help build a stronger, more competent, and more ethical ABA workforce in the Philippines.
Advancing Competence. Elevating Practice. Empowering Professionals.
Our Mission
ABATS exists to support the professional growth of Filipino ABA practitioners and allied professionals through structured education, continuing professional development, and collaboration with local and international institutions.
Our mission is to:
- Develop the science of behavior analysis in the Philippines
- Provide accessible and internationally aligned ABA training for Filipino professionals
- Support the professional recognition of ABA in the country
- Promote ethical and socially meaningful applications of ABA across education, autism services, developmental disabilities, mental health, organizational behavior management, and research
Through this mission, ABATS continues to contribute to the growth of ABA as a recognized, responsible, and evidence-based field of practice.
Our Background
ABATS began its work by offering professional training programs designed to help local practitioners build foundational ABA competencies aligned with international standards.
In 2015, ABATS offered the 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician training, which helped prepare professionals for international credentialing pathways. Through this program, ABATS mentored more than 50 professionals across different disciplines and produced 13 locally and internationally certified Registered Behavior Technicians, with a 96.43% examination passing rate.
From 2019 to 2021, ABATS also offered an ABA Course Sequence for professionals pursuing Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst pathways. During this period, ABATS became a BACB Type II Continuing Education Provider, received approval for a Verified Course Sequence through the BACB Alternative Pathway, and was awarded an International Development Grant from the Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis.
These milestones reflect ABATS’ long-standing commitment to competency-based ABA education and professional development.
Continuing Education and International Alignment
ABATS is an authorized continuing education provider of the following international organizations:
- Behavior Analyst Certification Board®, Inc.
- Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board
- International Behavior Analysis Organization
This provider status reflects ABATS’ commitment to offering training and continuing education that supports professional standards, ethical practice, and ongoing competency development in ABA.
Our programs are designed to help practitioners stay aligned with the evolving expectations of the field while remaining responsive to the needs of Filipino and Southeast Asian communities.
Academic Partnerships and Higher Education Pathways
ABATS believes that the future of ABA in the Philippines requires strong academic pathways, structured professional preparation, and collaboration with higher education institutions.
In June 2025, ABATS partnered with Universidad de Dagupan to offer a Post Graduate Certificate Program in Applied Behavior Analysis. This partnership marks an important step in expanding formal ABA education within Philippine higher education.
ABATS continues to work with universities and professional organizations to support stronger academic routes for ABA practitioners. Our long-term goal is to help establish the first Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis in the Philippines, creating a clearer pathway for local professionals to develop advanced competence and leadership in the field.
Conference Leadership and Regional Collaboration
ABATS has also played an active role in building professional learning communities for ABA practitioners and allied professionals.
In 2018, ABATS, together with PIECES Child Development Services, launched the International Conference on Applied Behavior Analysis – Philippines, also known as ICABAP. The conference brought together more than 200 local and international delegates, including behavior analysts, educators, doctors, psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, parents, and allied professionals.
ICABAP has served as a platform for professional lectures, workshops, forums, and discussions led by internationally recognized experts in behavior analysis. Through this initiative, ABATS helps raise the standard of ABA practice and encourages meaningful collaboration across disciplines.
ABATS is also a co-founder of the Southeast Asia ABA Conference, further supporting regional partnerships and knowledge-sharing among ABA professionals in Southeast Asia.
Our Approach to Training
Our Long-Term Vision
Build Your ABA Practice With the Right Training Foundation
Whether you are an ABA practitioner, clinical supervisor, special education professional, allied professional, or institution looking to strengthen ABA training pathways, ABATS provides structured programs designed to support professional growth and ethical practice.
We Would Like to Make Our Position Clear
Since 2023, ABA Training Solutions (ABATS) has officially discontinued offering Behavior Technician training programs. This is a deliberate and values-driven decision – not a temporary pause.
ABATS remains committed to upholding high standards in Applied Behavior Analysis. We believe that the growing needs of individuals and families require professionals who are prepared through comprehensive, structured, and higher-level education—not only basic implementation training.
With this, ABATS has shifted its focus toward developing competent and ethical supervisors who can lead teams, mentor practitioners, and help ensure quality ABA service delivery.
We continue to strengthen our partnerships with higher education institutions and support learning pathways that prepare professionals for more advanced roles in the field.
We understand that this change may raise questions, and we deeply appreciate the continued trust and support of our community as we move forward with this direction.
