Who We Are
ABA Training Solutions (ABATS) started in 2014 in Antipolo, Rizal. It is focused in providing quality Applied Behavior Analysis training (ABA) for Filipino professionals in giving effective, highly standardized treatment to children with special needs. Its highly competent trainers make it possible through continuously upgrading its craft to become more qualified and ethical ABA service provider.
ABATS is geared towards these goals:
- To develop the science of behavior analysis in the country;
- To provide ABA courses and training for Filipino professionals;
- To work for the recognition of ABA as a profession in the Philippines; and
- To encourage the application of ABA for developing socially relevant behaviors and advocating ethical practices in diverse fields like education, developmental disabilities, autism, mental health, organizational behavior management and research.
Presently, ABATS is providing Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) 40 hours training, one of the requirements of Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) in becoming an internationally recognized ABA practitioner. Last 2015, ABATS started the training and had mentored 50 professionals in different fields and was able to produce 13 RBT’s local and international with a 96.43% RBT Exam passing rate.
In the near future, ABATS will be offering ABA Course Sequence that will qualify professionals for the BACB examination to become Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA).
Last 2018, ABATS, together with its mother center PIECES Child Development Services in Antipolo, started organizing the annual International Conference on Applied Behavior Analysis – Philippines (ICABAP). The conference was attended by over 200 delegates including both local and international professionals and parents and had eminent international speakers including Dr. William Heward (co-author of Cooper, Heron, Heward, Applied Behavior Analysis 2 nd and 3 rd Edition), Dr. Neil Martin (Director of International Development, BACB), Dr. Amanda Kelly (Behaviorbabe, advocate of ABA), Dr. Patrick McGreevy (author of Essential for Living book), and other foreign BCBA’s and international experts in the field of ABA joining together for two days of lecture, discussion, workshop and active forum.
This is among ABATS goals for Filipino professionals, for them to gain information on ABA both ethically and professionally; and how to make our world a better place for individuals with disabilities in the Philippines.
This conference is expected to have attendees from local and international Behavior Analysts, Educators, Doctors, Psychologists, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Parents, and anyone dedicated to ensuring children with ASD have access to quality treatment.
Proudly on the same year, ABATS garnered the following: It has been authorized to be a provider of type II Continuing Education (CE) units by the BACB Inc.; It has been approved by BACB its verified course sequence via Alternative Pathway; And it is a proud recipient of International Development Grant by the Society for the advancement of Behavior Analysis (SABA).
Quality
- ABATSPh Modules are developed and designed by a certificant with more than 10 years of experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- ABATSPh Trainers are all certificants composed of local and foreign BCaBA’s and BCBA’s with wide experience in handling children and adults, in different settings like, home, school and institution.
- Assessors are BCBA’s who completed the Supervision requirement to supervise BCaBAs and RBTs.
Time
- ABA Training Solutions Philippines (ABATSPh) offers 4-terms per year for each batch of 3 to 15 candidates, allowing more aspiring professionals to become RBT.
- Terms begin in March , June, September and December. Meeting sessions are scheduled in late afternoon or evening sessions during weekdays and Saturdays to accommodate working professionals.
